BASIC SECURITY OFFICER

Course Overview:

This entry-level, in-person training program is designed to prepare individuals for employment with licensed security agencies or as in-house security department in the State of Alaska. The course provides foundational knowledge, practical skill development, and instruction on Alaska-specific laws and regulations. It ensures compliance with the Alaska Department of Public Safety's Security Licensing requirements (13 AAC 60.110)  while equipping participants with the tools needed to perform effectively in real-world private security roles.

LAWS OF ARREST & YOUR AUTHORITY

As a private security officer, you may perform police like functions, however you are not a police officer. Laws of arrest pertaining to security officers are contained in statutory laws. 

REPORT WRITING 

In the course of duty, security officers contend with several types of events that will require a record of response and reaction. Report writing is an essential skill for security personnel. 

PATROL TECHNIQUES

The Patrol Techniques Training provides security officers with the essentials, highlighting techniques for a variety of environments. 

LAWS OF SEARCH & SEIZURE

This course aims to provide a broad overview of the legal principles of search, and seizure in private security. 

CUSTOMER SERVICE

This course focuses on the customer service skills for security officers as an ambassador to the client's business.
